In my role I work on new projects in my area of the bank and help deliver them to the best of my potential, I work with stakeholders both internal and external to understand and document requirements for the project to deliver and meet. Then I will help take that project into delivery.
I have learnt plenty of new skills since working at Barclays, I have massively improved my public speaking skills in a safe and comfortable environment. My support with my development has been excellent and every day I feel like I am learning something new and improving on my skill set.
I really enjoy my programme, not one day so far have I woken up not wanting to go into work. I think about how I can tackle issues on my projects in my spare time, it is engaging and I really feel like I am involved and one of the team.
My programme is very well organised and structured, my course dates are defined a long time in advance and I have all the information I need to be well prepared for them. My team is also keen to make sure I am given my full amount of time for my learning off of the job.
I have so much support, it is perfectly balanced by allowing me the room to grow by being just outside of my comfort zone but at the same time if I need help it always there to be accessed. I have many mentors and I have people in all different roles willing to help.
My training provider is good at helping and supporting me towards my qualifications, they help direct and point me in the right direction for development with my courses and work. I have a good relationship with my learning mentor also and he is very professional and knows how to get a good job done.
So much, I refer to my course books a lot as there is so much knowledge that directly correlates with the work that I do, it is directly hand in hand with my day to day role. I also am looking forward to completing my qualification as this will move me further in my role.
Plenty, probably enough for me to do one a day! With it being such a large company we have a webpage with all of our citizenship activities on it that you can access and sign up to the ones you like the look of, there is something for everyone there!
Yes
It's everything I could hope for so far, the deal with apprenticeships is such a great opportunity, we get a qualification paid for, no debt, a job at the same time and waiting for me at the end, and I get experience! Which is a huge thing when it comes to working.
Be yourself, Barclays will be attracted to you as a potential employee based off of your potential, if you have the minimum grades to get you in, allow your personality to take over and show the characteristics that make you who you are. If you are willing to put in the work and excel, then you're already on the right track.
