I am part of the service virtualisation team at Barclays. I work with AWS most days and code as well. I have apprentice work every week and also college work. Some days / weeks I am busy however sometimes I have times where I am not as busy, so I do Barclays training.
When i started this apprenticeship, I didn't know much about computers or coding... 8 months in I know Java well and a bit of SQL, HTML, Python, C#. My matturity has grown, as I am always in a professional environment.
I am really enjoying this programme and would highly recommend it to anyone. Since I started work, I have been a happier person as I really love what I am doing at Barclays and the programme is a great with a lot of support.
Barclays have put an amazing apprenticeship together that grows people's personal develop from the start. It ensures that we network which increases apprentice's confidence and makes sure that we learn the basics being in a technology apprenticesip. A lot of support too.
Support is an important factor being in an new apprenticeship and this is what you get at Barclays. Theres always someone to talk to, either your career coach(121's) or your line manager, or anyone you feel comfortable with. If I have an issue, there is someone to talk too.
My trainig provider is QA. We get a tutor, so if we have any problems we know where to go. Tutors put daily meetings in to see how you are and how you're getting on with the work & if any help is needed.
The qualification is linked to your job role at Barclays, so I know that when I go to college I'm learning the content I need to know for my job role.
Barclays host many events, there are clubs and networking events, I am part of Women @ Radbroke.
