I take on roles within the firm that the other Paralegal's do. This involves drafting legal documents, preparing documents for Court, liaising with medical experts secretaries and Counsel's clerks and I am given the responsibility of assisting with various cases.
I have learnt so many new skills! I have so much more confident with communicating with various different people, I have a greater understanding of the running of legal cases and I feel very comfortable in my role.
I really enjoy my programme. The study as well as the workplace learning has really given me solid grounds to begin my career as a legal professional. I feel that learning this way has been challenging but also enjoyable.
I feel there is good organisation with the programme. I understand when my exams are and when my coursework deadlines are which enables me to organise my work out. The programme is conducted remotely with good structure.
I receive lots of support from my employer. I have a good line manager and team who support me with the day to day work that I am assisting with in the office. I also have an apprenticeship coordinator who I have regular check in with to check my progress.
I receive plenty of support from my training provider. As my study is done online I am able to access all the information that I need through an online VLE which helps me to learn content and meet deadlines.
The qualification enables to me to learn the legal, procedural and regulatory requirements needed to become a qualified paralegal. The study works hand in hand with the work I assist wit in the office which is great.
There are always opportunities to get involved with social activities with my work. There was monthly meet up evenings and always regular events taking place in the office.
Yes
I have been fully supported by DWF throughout my apprenticeship and they have enabled me to gain so much knowledge, confidence and skills to be where I am at present. It has been a fantastic opportunity.
I would advise people to get as much office based experience as possible before starting the apprenticeship as this will have them begin in a good place. Also, I would recommend that you be confident and I am sure that things will be fine.
