Within the first couple of months of my apprenticeship, I was mostly shadowing people within my team to see how the audit process works, and how stakeholder conversations take place. Gradually, my responsibilities increased by actively getting involved within audits and taking upon fieldwork and control writing exercises.
Definitely! I believe I have become much more confident and have improved the quality of my communication and team work skills drastically. Group audit involves a lot of team work and ensuring effective communication is in place is essential for the effective delivery of an audit.
I really enjoy my programme, there's always something new to learn everyday. My team and function are really friendly, and I have settled in well. With regards to study, the workload isn't excessive, so I'm finding it ok to manage my time to work and study.
With regards to structure, the learning journey for this 4 year apprenticeship has some desirable aspects, which motivate you to achieve them. However, because this programme has been launched for the first time, there are a couple of issues with regards to communication with out training provider and smooth delivery.
Lots and lots of support, I couldn't ask for more! Everyone that you work with is happy to take the time out to explain things to you. There are regular check-ins with my line manager. My talent coach assigned by my qualification provider checks in with us as well.
Not as much as I anticipated, especially with regards to professional qualification study. I would of liked someone that had knowledge about the content that I'm studying to coach me along the way, so I can ask them any questions that I may have along my apprenticeship journey.
The qualification offered definitely supports me in my role because I'm so new into the audit world, therefore the theory can be applied into practice.
There are loads of ways to get yourself involved outside of work life with Lloyds Banking Group. There are various opportunities to volunteer and fundraise for the organisation which gets the community together. There are various professional networking events that take place as well, tailored to apprentices.
