Day-to-day I am engaged in projects with clients. This might involve working remotely or on the customers site to provide services such as cloud migration, software deployments, etc.
I have learnt many new skills as well as developing existing ones. These include working with cloud platforms such as microsoft azure, developing my knowledge of scripting tools like powershell. Mostly, I have developed my soft skills such as delivering presentations or networking with customers.
I very much enjoy the programme. There is a positive culture within HPE and also within my team and many opportunities to carry out extra training/social events.
From HPE's side the programme is very well structured although that may differ depending on what team you're in. From the apprenticeship providers side (QA) there has been times where quality and structure has been lacking but they have responded positively to feedback provided.
I receive as much support from HPE as I ask for which works perfectly for me as I have regular conversations about progress without feeling smothered.
I receive a good amount of support from the training provider however this can change depending on which module we are studying and which tutor we have. However, there is a clear process of authority to follow when you have concerns and regular meetings with a skills coach
To date I would say the modules have been 50/50 when it comes to how applicable they are to my role. However, Im aware in the future there are more specific modules for my role.
There are a plethora of extra-curricular activities including networking events, social events and sports teams. HPE seem very open to suggestions in general.
Yes
I am enjoying the course, have enough support, frequent pay reviews and learn lots daily to further my career. I have friends in other degree apprenticeships that dont feel the same about their own jobs.
Make sure you're knowledgeable and confident about your interview. It is ok to say you don't know in an interview (I did) as long as you can justify your answer.
