Scripting and performing changes to live MSP networks, including assessing time frames for changes and severity. Carrying out builds for new links ordered. Performing activation and migration activities on call bridges with customers. Working with L2/3 Network to Network Interfaces and troubleshooting these with remote carriers to establish mainly Border Gateway Protocol connections. Supporting projects with activities such as auditing migration orders to be completed, scheduling activities and liaising with colleagues to resolve issues. Also have some experience working with Cisco and Vodafone SD-WAN product.
Learned far more about networking, working in a busy MSP environment and dealing with customers directly on calls. Learning about network security, working with MSP devices as well as more networking equipment than I ever have before. Lots of training is provided, this is both role-based as well as classroom learning from QA themselves.
I enjoy my programme greatly, it's far better than the previous apprenticeship that I was undertaking. The courses are far more in-depth and provide more information as to how you can implement what you have learned on the course. Quality of support is far superior also. Working with Vodafone is great and doesn't compare to my previous employer at all.
It's very well structured, you have regular reviews with your assessor who can provide on-site or remote support if required. This includes assistance with unit work, coursework or anything of this nature that you would require from the training authority. Not only can you consult your assessor, your team will be more than likely up to assist you in any way that they possibly can.
I receive a vast amount of support from my employer be it support for the role i'm being trained on or for my coursework. Documentation is provided as well as training videos for any training that is necessary to become a functioning member of the team you are an apprentice in. You do not have to be shy if you wish to learn something new and require help with it.
Support provided by the training provider is very good, it is provided by the assessor you have been assigned as well as any lecturers on training courses. The lecturers on the courses also are assessors so are more than capable to assist you with any questions you may have about coursework also.
It helps me to perform far better, you are required to research information pertaining to your role and shape it around various answers for your coursework. This is in the form of units which test your skills and knowledge to prove that you are learning and are capable of performing the role that you are training for.
Vodafone has a large social media presence which promotes great social activities and many events to take part in as an apprentice or full time employee. This can range from sporting events, support for minority groups and coming together as one big team. This is a great aspect of the Vodafone working environment as you do not feel any colleagues are a stranger and you can reach out to anyone.
Yes
Vodafone is an amazing place to work, it retains formalities where required but also makes the environment in their offices a bit more relaxed and more conducive to working. This could change dependant upon what team you are in but over-all the attitude of employee's is second to none. If you need a hand, someone will be there to lend it where necessary.
Research the company, give yourself a good understanding of how they operate and their ideologies. The customer is key in this company and you must ensure that you keep that at the centre of your role. Putting the customer first when dealing with anything is most important in any case. Communication is very quick and interviews and such will be arranged promptly.
