Trainee Document Controller - Alder Topsides Project. Issuing and filing of design and supplier documentation, communicating with internet disciplines as well as external vendors and client (Conoco Phillips) to ensure documents are accurate and procedures are followed.
Time management skills (prioritising), communication skills, attention to detailed as well as role specific skills such as effective using of internal databases.
I am part of a tightly knit team who get on well with each other and there is always a positive environment around the office. The programme itself is superb with training courses specific to Document Control and Project Controls which I found very interesting.
Amec Foster Wheeler make employee's feel extremely valued. The money spent on training courses highlights this as well as the opportunities given to contribute to important tasks on a day-to-day basis.
The programme is very well structured and uses all types of learning tools including; on the job training, external courses and internal online training through the Amec Academy. Each trainee is assigned a mentor who can answer any questions you may not want to ask your Line Manager or discipline.
Training providers were always on hand to assist with any issues through out the training with contact details ready available.
Support is always available and all Managers are easily accessible. Project Controls gathering's are held every couple of months where you can discuss any issue's or suggestions you may have with the programme.
Currently living at home and near to the office, my salary covers all costs comfortably.
Yes, the GTA Community provide numerous social events ranging from various sports to dinner/dances.

Everyone is treated equally and made to feel of the same importance no matter the job title. The traineeship is challenging but rewarding and uses various training techniques.
