My role is business admin. I do all of the admin for my team, this is ordering stationary, booking meetings, being secretary for meetings and setting meeting agendas as well as preparing any documents needed. I also help to book accommodation and travel for staff members as and when required.
I have leaned IT skills over this apprenticeship as I am using IT software that I have not used before. I have also learned administration skills such as minute taking and meeting booking. I have learned and developed higher communication skills as I am interactive with people in and outside of the company.
I really enjoy this program. It is very well put together and the team within DE&S and the Capita team are all very helpful and knowledgeable. I enjoy that within the program we spend time in different areas within the DE&S which helps us to understand the organisation as a whole.
The program is very well organised and structured. We have clear timescales and due dates for any work to compete and there are very clear instructions on what needs to be done with a website system which we log into which helps to track our progress. The scheme leaders are also there to lend a hand and we have weekly support meetings.
I receive a lot of support from my employer as they are always available to lend a hand, if they have found any information they feel is useful to us they will send this across. They are also very kind with regards to any matters outside of the programme and are always there to lend an ear.
I receive a lot of support from the training provider, I have my own trainer and we have regular one on one sessions to discuss how I am getting on and to help me with any questions I may have or any support I may need while completing the programme
I feel this qualification will help me greatly to perform in my role as I am learning so much which will help me in the future to progress through the organisation. Within a small about of time on the programme I have learned to so much already which I didn’t know before
There is volunteering opportunities within the organisation and teams will have team days where they go offsite and have team bonding days. There is a gym onsite which you can sign up to which has sport activities and classes you can get involved in. The team I am with are currently doing a walking challenge at the moment.
Yes
I feel this is a very good company to work for, they treat staff very well, better than any company I have worked for in the past. They are very supportive of your work and you progressing and they are also very supportive of any issues you may have inside and outside of work
I would advise people to go for it, I would not want to work for another company. I think that there are so many opportunities to progress in this organisation and there is so much support for your further learning and development within the role you are working in the organisation
