  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role within Vodafone is to investigate faults raised in by customers in via the various channels such as social media, online chat bots and classic call centres, we have a variety of tools at our disposal to diagnose the issue being quoted by the customer and therefore take the appropriate steps to fix the issue for the customer and improve the experience they face on our network

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new skills both on and off the job, while working in my role I have learnt many problem solving skills as well as understanding how the network functions and where potential issues may lie. I have also learnt many new skills from qualifications provided by QA such as CCNA training as well as security and networking courses also, I have also learnt many personal skills such as how do conduct behaviour within a work environment, something you would not get at university

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme alot and was the best decision I made to join, the team I work within are very supportive and have helped upskill me to the level which I can work independently and have given me the confidence to try new things removing the fear of failure and allowing me to pick up different projects to help improve internal processes in the company

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think the programme is well organised, the induction was detailed as well as the offsite training for the exams, my mentor is incredibly supportive and I feel I can be open with them should I have any issues, or querys on the work I am doing for the apprenticeship and if I am on track or not

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I recieve lots of support from my employer and management making sure I have enough time to complete apprenticeship and being competent within my role and the team around me also always support me should I need help with anything. They have also been very positive with the introduction with apprentices coming into the area of the business as there were none previously

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We had a minimum 1 week course for each qualification and was given further study material to work with to upskill to attempt to gain the qualifications, and there is a great sense of achievement once passing the examinations and becoming certified that drives me to pass all the exams required for the apprenticeship

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel like understanding from the qualifications gives greater depth to the reasons why the business functions how it does, for example why security requirements are in place and the potential threats a large company could face and the damage to the brand image and potential further impact it could cause

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We have many extra curricular activities that go on, from upskilling in roles or in other roles e.g. cyber focuses, to sports teams and there is also many networking events as well as charity fund raising opportunities on campus which makes it a very positive and dynamic place to work

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The sheer diversity, morals and opportunity it gives to all people from all demographics which you may not get in other firms within similar industries, the company is also very staff orientated making sure everyone is safe and well and this has been highlighted even further in the currrent pandemic which we are facing


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Vodafone?
  • Be your true self, do not worry about what the other interviewees think, and explain why YOU would make a splash at the company and how you could be a key asset to the company going forward. I would of like to of been told all this when I started to limit those nerves I did have
