As a Network Engineer within Vodafone, my role involves technical support of multiple IP services and platforms in the mobile environment. The workload is varied and involves working on tickets to fix faults and implement new solutions, as well as getting involved in ongoing project work.
I've learnt a great deal of new skills, from technical skills to interpersonal/business skills, and developed existing skills that I had gained through previous experience. This has been essential in setting me up for a career in Network Engineering.
The apprenticeship has been enjoyable. It met my expectations in terms of the type of work and learning that I anticipated would be involved. The company culture at Vodafone is great. And I get along well with my team, who are very supportive.
The apprenticeship is well structured. There is a good level of support from both Vodafone and QA. The content of the training benefits me in my role, and there is ample time for studying alongside the job.
I receive a lot of support from my employer. My manager is always available for support, and so are my colleagues and mentor. I haven't encountered any negativity when looking for help during the apprenticeship.
I receive good support from the training provider. Regular update meetings take place, and between meetings the skills coach/advisor is available to answer questions via email. Online course material is provided which can be accessed at any time.
Everything that I am learning in my apprenticeship helps me on a day-to-day basis in my job role. The technical knowledge that I've gained during my apprenticeship helps me to understand better the work that I do.
There are plenty of company events, activities, and classes to get involved in at work. There are also social events that get organised, along with good voluntary initiatives to take part in.
