I started my apprenticeship in September 2019 and I am already using the skills that I have gained through the work that I have done so far in my job. I am enjoying my learning and gaining a lot of knowledge and understanding of how other areas of the business work. All the support that I am receiving (especially during this difficult time) has been great.
I have started to look at the business as a whole rather than just the area that I work as part of. This is allowing me to offer support and make suggestions on working together to assist our customers. I am constantly learning new things around the business.
I am really enjoying my programme, I feel like it really suits my learning needs and aims. As part of my course I am also completing functional skills which is allowing me to refresh and use some of my skills that I may not have used for a long time.
I feel like my course is very well structured and organised. I have regular catch ups with my assessor and also my support network within my business. I also know exactly where to go to for advice if anything becomes unclear or I need further support or guidance with my apprenticeship.
I receive a lot of support from my employer. I have regular catch up and these were also organised more frequently due to the covid situation. I am really happy with the support that I receive from my employer and I feel like they really push you into achieving and completing your apprenticeship.
I receive great support from my training provider. My assessor even organised a training course for my to attend college one day a week to help support me with my functional skills maths - this isn't one of my strengths and I felt super happy and supported that this could be arranged to help me.
I feel that it helps me perform a lot better in my role. As mentioned previously it is helping me look at the business in a different way and allowing me to get involved in project that I would have never though possible. It is also allowing me to look at the wider business and how this works.
I am quite a social person and always try to arrange social events to take place outside of work. In the past I have arranged events such as go-carting at Daytona and also nights out. I have also been involved in professional events most recently representing my company at the Qualification Wales Exams Officer Events which I really enjoyed.
Yes
I would definitely recommend my business as a place to work to my friends, not only is this a great place to work it also has really good benefits. The area of the business that I work in has really good work efficacy and great opportunities for you to get involved in if you express an interest.
Just be yourself. If you are the type of person that enjoys being in projects, pushing yourself outside of your boundaries and speaking in front of people then you will really enjoy working here. This however isn't something that you have to do, if you prefer to be quiet and keep yourself to yourself and get on with your job this is also a great place to do that.
