I manage a team of 7 visiting income officers in Kent and Sussex. They do booked visits and cold calls to help residents in rent arrears with budgeting and benefits. I manage calendars and check accounts and visits working with central team leaders to reduce debt. I also work on projects to improve technology and I review performance and set objectives
Yes I have learnt useful skills and techniques which I can adapt and use in my everyday work. I have learnt skills to help me better understand how my team behave, work and learn to be able to adapt my style to get the best from the team. I have learnt how to deal with conflict, and to communicate effectively.
I am really enjoying learning and researching the different topics. Sometimes it is hard to fit in the time needed, but so far I have managed to keep up to date.
I am sent tasks to complete each month so it has been well structured. The workshops have helped to consolidate skills and the workbooks take you through subjects in detail
Overall my employer has been very supportive. At times I have felt pressure to be doing my day job and not being able to fit in the 20% off the job training needed, so have completed some at weekends. Having said that my manager has been keen to make sure I am given time to complete the activities, and the company has offered full support
I know that my tutor is always there to help if needed. I haven't had that much interaction with her, but she has kept me on track with progress reviews etc.
It has taught me lots of new skills and techniques to use and improve my skills. Many of the practical exercises have helped in the different situations I face daily
Yes we do have team days away from the office, and there are focus groups available to join though I am not a member.
Yes
They are a good company to work for. They treat staff well and use the CORE values in everyday working. It does actually feel like we work as one team and everyone is there to help each other, It has not been like that in other companies I have worked for
There is a strong culture, and a strong belief in diversity and inclusion. It is hard work but rewarding.
