Currently in first year and this entails purely learning basic Engineering skills and knowledge in order to help me be more prepared for when working at Plant. This involves going into college to do theoretical study and practical work such as using machinery.
Currently yes, so I have developed my Mathematical and Material knowledge in first year in order to be prepared and have background knowledge. I have also learnt how to use different types of basic machinery to a reasonable standard.
First year may seem boring and completely irrelevant but it is enjoyable to learn basic Engineering as well as having the opportunity to freely do practical activities without constant hand holding from lecturers.

I receive plenty of support from BMW themselves in the form of management checking up on us and having suitably timed 1 to 1 meetings every so often.
Very very hit and miss. Some lecturers lack passion in their teaching whereas some lecturers are fantastic and are willing to teach and give us their time outside of teaching hours to support us.
The way that some of the lecturers teach is [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] but on the whole it is ok. As previously mentioned some of the teaching is brilliant but unfortunately not all.
There are many activities which people can get involved with at Plant
Yes
It is the opportunity of a lifetime this apprenticeship! You are being paid to learn new skills and develop your existing ones in a world leading Automotive company. You are treated as an individual too.
Be yourself during interview, don't have a toxic personality being condescending about having an A* etc when talking to other applicants during interview. Great alternative to university BUT prepare mentally for mental challenges and a fair workload.
