I am a microwave link planner for telecommunications, so I design links between two sites to connect them together to provide the backhaul to our network
Yes i have learnt an entirely new set of skills, I came into the apprenticeship knowing nothing about networking or transmission planning and now I can plan a fully fledged microwave design
I enjoy the life at vodafone and is always great for a new challenge
The way the apprenticeship has been handled for me has been iffy, there's been some really great things and some really awful things but as quickly as these have been raised they have been rectified
I receive all the support i need from anyone in the business, whether that be my manager, mentor, apprenticeship leader, you can always get support from someone when needed
my training provider has been up and down, my new skills coach is great and provides every last bit of support you need. however handling of the revision sessions has been temperamental from QA
Having the depth of knowledge on all things in networking really helps my role as it gives me a deeper understanding of what I am doing
There are occasionally events that you can volunteer and help out on
Yes
I think its a great place to work and a great career choice no matter the career you want to go in, the progression and flexibility they provide is outstanding
Be confident, be yourself, want to work there. Vodafone are looking for people who want to work there not just people wanting a job
