My role involves starting up a production line and running it, I am also involved with different projects throughout the factory such as time-saving and money-saving.
I've learnt a lot of new skills, working with manufacturing machines every day I pick up new skills every day. Being in an engineering environment I've gained a lot of insight into industrial processes and how to use tools.
I enjoy my apprenticeship a sit has given me a foothold in a great company for a future career. On a day to day basis i am doing different things every day so it is very interesting.
My apprenticeship is fairly well structured as there is a clear college timetable and the factory work is organised too
I receive a lot of support from my employer, I have many points of contact I can go to, to seek help or advice if i should need it.
I receive good support from my college as the teachers are always willing to help if we have an issue about anything.
I learn valuable skills in college that i can then transfer to my work, e.g. taking apart a motor in college beforehand helped me when i did it for real in work and i knew what all the parts were.
There is an apprentice day every year which is a day event, a 2 day trip.
Yes
I think the environment here is great, everyone is willing to help you go further in your career and you learn valuable skills that can easily be transferred from college to work.
Be yourself and be confident that you can get the role!
