i am a software engineering associate. i have been placed in the internal department of Accenture working with a team called Shared services. At present my tasks include report and invoice creating, data collection, and sales and marketing. on a day to day basis i assist in the selling of internal services to other departments within Accenture. i also have meetings with team leads and managing directors to collect data that will be needed by the rest of my team
I have been developing my Java coding skills, i am due to sit an exam in java later in the year. I have also learnt how to use excel efficiently. how to use SQL, and how to create websites
There are many days where working at Accenture is very difficult as i may be introduced to a new process or an idea to develop a system further. however i do enjoy working here at Accenture. My team have been very welcoming to me and have made me feel equal to them not just an apprentice. I like the company's culture and approach to work. My office is a nice environment to be in and is filled with work focused individuals who also know how to have fun at the right times
I feel that within time my value to Accenture will increase. As of now i feel valued to an extent. i am one of the first london apprentices that Accenture has so doing well will only help the company. I feel like my work in my team is very valued as i have a crucial time constrained task on a monthly basis where if the data needed is not collected correctly the team falls behind
I feel that my programme is organised to an extent. With me being one of the first apprentices the organisation has taken on they have done a good job. I think to improve letting us know in advance what happens on the second year of our apprenticeship would be great. I do feel as if time given for studying however is not enough
i see my training provider every 6 weeks to check over my coursework and to see if i am enjoying the work i am doing. i can also email or call him at any time if i have any worries or concerns
i think i receive a good amount of support from my employer. if there is an issue i know who i can turn to
i think that my salary is fair, here may be months where i do struggle to manage my salary well, but with the cost of living increasing i think the salary may not meet costs well
yes i regularly recieve emails inviting me to company events and training events which gives me a chance to meet others in the company
Yes
because it is a very good alternative to going to university. It provides in depth knowledge and gives you the opportunity to become business savvy and develop your education going to university.
to not only look the part, act the part. Accenture is a reputable company and want people who will also represent the company well. as an apprentice a lot of eyes will be on you so acting in a professional manner and showing you willingness to learn pays off
