On a day-to-day basis I have the role of a Building Services Engineering Technician, working within the three disciplines of Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health Engineering. I mainly use Autodesk Revit, AutoCad and Autodesk Navisworks, there are other programmes used less frequently. I set-up Revit Models and lead the Revit side of Engineering Progects as the Model Manager controlling the Revit Model.
I have learnt new skills in all prorgrammes mentioned above. As before I had never used them. I have become competant in Revit, Cad and Navisworks. As well as expanding of my own previous skills in Work, Excel and general document writing.
I very much enjoy my programme as I have learnt so much in Engineering and Engineering Computer Software. I have also had the opportunity to work with some very skilled and inteligent individuals in the Building Services Engineering field.
Despite having learnt so much and the fact that I take great pride in my company, I feel in recent years the apprenticeship structure has deteriated but is getting better with a new organised strcuture.
I receive alot of support from my immediate team of technicains and from my department (BE-1). I can be assured that someone will always be arround to help me with any problems.
I think my training provider has given me very useful guidence and support when gaining my NVQ qualification.
My NVQ has improved my writing skills as well as expanded my knowldege in Engineering and BIM alike.
There are many socials and events that go on thoughout the year.
