I am a nursery apprentice who is working at a nursery setting completing my level 3 in the children and young people’s workforce with paragon skills. I work to support children and promote their wellbeing and safeguard them. I currently work in pre school with the 3-4 age group
I have learnt a lot of skills in relation to childcare such as safeguarding, educating, promoting independence, how to support children’s development, how to complete files, how to do prams and targets, how to set up activities and even things as simple as changing a nappy as it is not something I’d done before. I have built on existing skills by becoming more confident in fields such as team work and communication
I enjoy the setting I work in and the work I have been set has been easy to work through and interesting to complete.
I feel it is well organised as I completed my level 2 on time and have swiftly moved onto my level 3 as I hoped I would have. The structure is clear and so are the tasks that are set out for me to complete
Whenever I have a query, concern or something I need to discuss I always feel comfortable to take this to a member of the management team as I feel like my feelings are valued and respected whatever they may be. If I had a question about my coursework I would feel able to ask them also
Whenever I have a question, I simply text or email my tutor who always gives me a swift response answering my question and helping me to complete the set task. My tutor is also very helpful when explaining new work to me and what I have to complete
I feel like my coursework allows me to have a better understand of the more intellectual side of the role, such as the reason we do things and the importance of doing them
No. We have completed training courses such as first aid and food hygiene
Yes
It has been an easy to understand course and my tutor is very helpful
