I am part of the Centre of Excellence audit team who specialise in audit of pensions, tax and share based payments. On a daily basis, i interact with the client, the front line delivery audit team, and other third parties such as administrators and invetsment managers.
I have developed my organisational and time management skills as well as my documentation skills on file. I am also more attentive to detail and have developed some great technical skills.
I enjoy my programme as it combines university and a flying start to a professional career in accounting. There is a great team spirit and a culture of coaching at PwC. It can however be stressful and time pressured.
The programme is well structured, with personal tutors at university and career coaches while on placement.
I receive a lot of support from managers, peers, career coaches, etc.
We receive books and learning materials from ICAEW while studying at university. We also have access to the ICAEW website which has a variety of materials.
The progress in my qualification has provided me with a stepping stool and a foundation in my understanding.
Yes there are social activities like netball and football i can get involved in, as well as running and cycling challengers, volunteering opportunities, etc
Yes
Its a great firm to work for. Even if you don't enjoy your current department, there is always room to transfer to a different department or do a secondment.
The application process is not easy, and you definitely have to practice and work hard to pass the tests.
