Electrical contracting in Hampshire and surrounding areas that consist mainly of things likeInstalling electrical equipment cables or containment. Maintainence of existing electrical work done by us or other. Inspection and testing of electrical instillations either after instillation, periodically or if just reauired. Going to various sites to do the job.
The new skills that have been learnt or are currently being learnt are obviously different types of hand and physical skills such as working with cable, terminating cable differently and into different appliences. Running on cable. Putting in different types of containment. Testing and inspecting knowledge and also theory that is needed to pass required exams.
I enjoy the programme alot and feel like it is a good job to do. The company help me alot and make sure we have everything we need. They also pay for me to get to and to go to college which helps. The length of the programme isn't to bad as it will make sure your competent at the end .
The structure of the programme is good. It's a block release around once a month which I think is better than a day release. The current circumstances have obviously halted this at the moment but hopefully it will be back up and running as soon as possible when it is safe.
The employer supports me alot. As said above makes sure I have everything I need and also sorts any travel I need to get too and from college when I'm going. Also do routine checks to make sure I'm happy with everything at that current time which is good.
The college provides a fair bit of training, it covers most of the theory well and gives us the help to pass each exam coming up. They also help with practical skills. They also have a seperate designated person come check on us every now and then to make sure we're up to date on everything
I think it helps alot and gives us enough knowledge that we can then apply to work when we go. It also helps you understand stuff when your at work such as what types of test are required and why etc. It's nice to know what your doing at work if you have done it previously at college
There's no activities sport teams or professional networking events to be involved in. There are Christmas does or just work does in general which are good. Or you can just meet up with some outside of work as you will probably get on with most employees I guess lol.

Good job with good career. Had a good option of furthering your career with a career ladder so you can continue to get better and earn better money. Also enjoyable working enviroment with good work colleagues to work with and alongside. Overall a good job and career choice for someone interested in it.
Learn sses 5 rules such as if it's not safe to do we don't do it etc. Probably the same as any job but have a good attitude be willing to learn and listen. Be interested in the job and also try to enjoy it. Have good GCSEs so you have a better chance. Ask lots of questions.
