In the office I contribute to statutory reports of companies in administration, use online accounting tools for financial tasks, attend client meeting/calls. On sites I have contributed to many parts of an admin, built relationships with clients and have been involved in a sale of business process.
I have learnt new technical skills with initial classroom learning of accounting skills. I have further enhanced these everyday by using them firsthand contributing to live cases. I have also learnt how to communicate professionally(verbally and in writing) and how to work with a variety of clients
I have enjoyed how much firsthand experience I have had to use the skills I have learnt in the classroom on live jobs. I have enjoyed how much I have been welcomed in to the team irrelevant of my age/experience. As the jobs are live they are often exciting.
We had a well structured 2day induction. The learning is organised as we're given set time off to study/attend classes without thinking about work. The work side is more unstructured due to nature of business but we're encouraged to prioritise exams in busy spells which is helpful.
I would say we specifically have a very approachable team and I have received support from the top down with many contacts for all possibilities. I have direct support from my personal 'counsellor' (mentor) in the team who I catch up with frequently which is very useful
I haven't used the provider much in terms of support but there are resources in place which I think could be used if needed. There are lots of online resources which are fairly useful for studying etc. The classroom learning is good for meeting other people doing your course.
Some courses are more relevant to my exact job role than others but without a doubt there is knowledge I have learnt through courses which enhance my on the job experience. This will continue to grow as I complete more courses.
I think there are some sports teams however we haven't heard much. There have been social and networking events with my smaller team and also office wide ones. I know there is social committee dedicated to these events so they are well planned.
Yes
The business is very welcoming and encourages all staff but especially those in training programmes to learn more every day and get involved with a variety of experiences.
Be eager to learn and embrace every opportunity. EY hire people who they think will work well together so be yourself. Don't be worried about lack of experience or confidence as this grows every day more you are in the job. Work hard and it will be appreciated.
