I maintain the site with any pending jobs that need to be completed. Lighting Motor replacements and projects are set as well as completing the appropriate RA's. More in depth knowledge is learnt about the site day in day out where i am taken by experienced employees who safely show me how to go about tasks.
yes i have learnt many new skills such as safety within a workplace as working here day in day out makes you aware of the dangers on a power station. i have also developed better social skills as i have had to socialise with other people such as contractors and new employees
I love working here every job is different big or small. the company itself looks after its employees ensuring that their safety is top priority and the employees are very welcoming and helpful. It has exceeded my expectations and was surprised how efficiently they all work together in each department
The programme is carefully planned out from the start with inductions being the first thing that was drilled in to us to ensure we are aware of the safety procedures to the training support and resources we can use in order to get the best grades and task delegation is fair and appropriate
I receive support from my employer at all time even during the pandemic and i'm in close contact with him to ensure that everything is going smoothly. HR team are helpful in case anything is needed although can be slow at times. they have a good attitude towards teaching the apprentices
The training provider are helpful with the resources they give you however they can improve on communication from my personal experiences they seem to have a problem with replying quickly and providing the right Information on request. some tutors are far more helpful than others as some give the wrong indication of what to do
The majority of stuff is highly related as the theory seems to be useful when needed however, some of the practical stuff is not relatable to my specific role but was interesting to get an insight into what i have practised. I feel as if it definitely helped me get through the first two years
There are little events held only local community aids and Christmas dinners
Yes
I would recommend SSE to a friend as they are helpful to apprentices and the support is far more than helpful
Focus on your interests and show passion about your interests
