  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is to support service users on a day to day basis, make sure they're safe in their home. These involve supporting them on their personal care, feeding them, preparing their meals, giving their medication, cleaning and washing their clothes. Supporting the service users on their daily activities, such as taking them to a boat ride, cinema, picnic or visiting places and also taking them for their dental appointment or doctors appointment.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, I have learnt a lot of skills from working with different clients, elderly, dementia, end of life, autism and other leaning disabilities. I have gained a lot of experience and knowledge on doing different courses and training to do my work properly. Additionally, working with other colleague or senior staff can learn from them too share experience.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I was not happy when I started the programme due to not having a laptop to excess my learning. Now I manage to get a laptop and I am enjoying completing my work with the help of my Tutor who help me to get back on track with my learning.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is well structured, I have a lot of support from my Tutor, all the resources I need is all online which makes it easier and you can logged on anywhere to do your course if you have a free time to study. BKSB very useful mark it for me as I complete any task.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • they provide work for me so that I can gain experience and also help on my course. Offer me courses I should take to improve my skills.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I am receiving a lot of support from my Tutor without her support and encouragement I won't be able to do it on time. We had meetings booked up every week on Team doing recording and discuss other topics on the course. So far I am enjoying it self studying, researches and my work is nearly up to date and my percentage is going up every week.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Yes, this has help me to perform better on my work I have put in to practice what I have learnt so far and this qualification will help me to gain knowledge and move on to a senior role and paid better too.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • When I am not working I do a lot of activities like going for a walk, running, baking and gardening.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Company have a lot of vacancy ,offer free training, DBS, recruitment process is easy. It does not take long to wait till they get you ready to work example they provide training, ID, and shadow shifts and getting paid every week


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Nurse Plus?
  • The application process is easy fill in an online form and they will call you or just call their Nurse plus office asking them if they have support worker vacancy available for yourself. My application process was easy got accepted straight away after the interview. Fill in all paperwork needed all to wait for my DBS to come through, done all my training, shadow shifts and working every week and paid weekly too.
