Mainframe Performance Analyst Review

Monitoring our Mainframe systems on a day to day basis to ensure we have optimal performance. Actively monitoring and engaging with other teams within Mainframe to ensure any issues get resolved and are dealt with in a quick and efficient manner. ensuring all systems have enough capacity do cope with the large customer demands.

I have learnt many new skills and also developed existing skills. Firstly is regarding technology, i have managed to improve my knowledge and skills around using all the basic software needed to complete my day to day work. I have also developed my communication skills as i communicate with different people on a day to day basis.

I thoroughly enjoy my programme. It gives me a mix of work and university allowing me to get both experiences. Along with this i get paid a generous salary so am able to enjoy my personal life. I have multiple support channels and am developing as an employee and person.

As i was the first year undertaking the apprenticeship i am it was not very well organised at first but as the years have gone by the improvements have been very thorough and now, with the help of the apprentices involved, the programme is very well organised and structured for future apprentices.

I receive all the support i required from my employer. I have a line manager who i can approach around anything to do with work. I have a technical buddy for any technical issues i am facing. I also have a HR leader who helps me with any personal issues or issues i have relating to University.

I receive a great deal of support from Man Met Uni when working towards my qualification. All my tutors are available to for meetings that suit myself and i have two liaison officers who work to ensure i am being supported by everyone in the best possible way while working towards my degree.

My qualification has been designed with my job role in mind, this allows it to help me perform better in my role as everything we learn is catered to our job roles. All the skills i learn within my qualification can be taken into work and used to help me better perform.

The site i work on provide extra-curricular activities for any person. This can include sports such as football, that i am involved in, a gym to keep fit or if you want to improve your knowledge there are multiple SME KT sessions after work that you can attend and also language classes for people wanting to learn a new language.

I would say that you need to be prepared to work hard and focus on learning new skills and developing as both an employer and a person. Be prepared to meet and communicate with new people but most of all look forward to working for a brilliant company and show ow excited you are.
