Developing features and making fixes for Barclays mobile banking application for iOS devices.
Developed new skills, as prior to my role at Barclays I had no programming experience whatsoever ever. Also improved upon other general office based knowledge.
Very much. As much as I enjoy my job role, I also enjoy working for Barclays and on the site where I work. I feel that as a company, Barclays really look after their employees.
I feel that the programme probably varies based on department and line-manager, however the university side of the programme is very well organised.
I feel that Barclays are very supportive of their employees, they take pride in looking after your wellbeing. I don't feel that there is anything work related, or personal that I can't talk to them about.
MMU offer fantastic support towards earning the qualifications. The various tutors are always available via email if you have any queries when not at the university. We also have a tutor that comes in to the workplace to keep a track of our progress, as well as being there for support, and to answer or help with any queries.
Although the work to obtain my qualification is not completely specific to my job role, the programming aspect of my course gives me a better overview of software engineering as a whole, whilst the business elements help to give a better understanding of how other areas of the business work that surround my job role.
There are many various citizenship activities that take place, as well as an onsite gym, football pitch, 5 a-side astroturf and tennis court.
