  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role as a Brand Assistant of New Product Development in NO7 requires me to complete daily tasks such as studying blogs, researching competitors, keeping up with new market trends and generally supporting my team. I interact a lot through meetings as this is the main way the team gets together, with my responsibilities being to support others in meeting deadlines and making sure samples are ready for events etc.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have gained a lot of confidence whilst at Boots due to attending meetings and always being encouraged to share my ideas and input on new projects/events. Boots and my team are ever so encouraging of training and developing your skills to the highest standard, training sessions and e-learning are constantly being advertised and shared. This can be from developing personal and team working skills all the way to financial work shops and econometrics.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Boots?
  • My manager is very apprecitative, and always makes sure I am happy with my work and understand what my duties are. I also have a colleague who has a similar role to me so can support me throughout my training. She is always there to help and holds weekly meetings with me so I can have support on new work that I do not understand.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is very well structured, we started with a couple of days of training/induction which really helps to gain friendships and to settle in before we started in our functions. It was a relaxed atmosphere which made us all feel less nervous and we have been given a learning centre so we can study in a quiet and supportive environment.
