Monday is a B-Tec day, lesson time split into two sessions one in the morning, one in the afternoon. Tuesday - Friday is workshop time spent on different rotations such as electrical, macining, fluid power, hand fitting and PLC
I have learnt new skills in electrical wiring and testing of circuits, fluid power was new to me so I have also learnt new skills here. i had done some machining previously so I have been able to improve my skills.
I very much enjoy my programme it is a fun and engaging way to develop and learn new skills as well as a good introduction to the workplace ettiquette that is required within the engineering world, this is invaluable for work experience before entering an official job role.
Overall the programme is well structured, however some of the units and course timings have been in disarray, this is not due to any one particular reason, more to a series of unfortunate events.
I feel I recieve ample support from my employer, they are less involved in the first year as I am mainly under the college, despite this, there are 3 monthly meetings with my manager to check how i am progressing. there is always support when needed
I recieve support when needed or asked for. On top of normal lesson time
very well
There are multiple recruiting events as well as local social events
Yes
