I am part of the Social and Content team as a Social Media Apprentice. My main responsibility is supporting the day to day management of 'Sage Voices', our social media employee advocacy platform.
Through Sage and my apprenticeship course I am deepening my understand of digital marketing and best practice on social media. I have learnt how to use platforms such as Brandwatch and Hootsuite in my role as well as continually developing personal and professional skills.
I have only been on the apprenticeship course for a short period of time. Thus far everything is well organised.
I feel more than comfortable raising any future queries or concerns with my employer. I already feel well supported in the Sage family.
The digital marketing course is much broader than the specifics of my job, but it does tie in well and I can apply parts of the course to my day to day role.
Having started during the coronavirus pandemic I joined the company virtually. Everyone was really welcoming and there have been regular fun activities such as pub quizzes and informal catch ups.

My apprenticeship at Sage is my first experience of formal employment. I am really enjoying my role, have settled in well (albeit virtually) and been made to feel welcome by everybody. As a first job and first experience in a team goes, it has been so much better that I ever could have imagined. I genuinely enjoy what I do everyday, and feel as though there is a lot of opportunity at Sage for me to grow both personally and professionally.
Easier said than done, but don't be nervous. I had a really positive interview experience and since getting my role there is no such thing as a stupid question, so ask lots! Have a look around to get a feel for the company. For example the hashtag #lifeatsage on Twitter showcases a lot of great employee experiences.
