My day to day role involves either managing or assisting on various projects. These range from smaller process improvements all the way through to larger and more complex projects. As my role has progressed I have slowly been given more responsibility and been involved in larger projects. My day is split between planning and admin and meetings with my team or other stakeholders. I get the opportunity to work with people from across my area of the business, this includes senior stakeholders.
truly cannot quantify how much I have learnt during my apprenticeship. I had little knowledge of the corporate world or Project Management. Through my coursework been able to build the foundation of my knowledge by gaining Agile and APM PMQ qualifications and have been exposed to apprentices from other companies. My team have been incredibly helpful at continually setting me challenges but also guiding and supporting me. Sage itself has wonderful opportunities for development - beyond the existing infrastructure all you have to do is ask and make use of the opportunities presented to you.
I have very much enjoyed the programme. Project Management in itself is a fairly stressful profession with lots of responsibilities however the support of my team has meant that I'm always able to share the burden and reach out for help when needed.
Well organised on the whole
I have always felt fully supported and valued
The face-to-face training courses were incredibly useful and my skills coach visits provided very valuable help in completing my portfolio.
I would say that I've put almost 80% of what I have learnt theory wise into practise and where I've not been able to do this its help me understand work that others have completed.
Yes. Weekly Yoga, Running Club, Volunteering
Yes
Having effectively used this apprenticeship to change career I don’t think any other entry level position would have enabled me to learn as much as I have as fast as I have. Sage iteself has been a great company to work for.
- Research the company and team (if possible) - Make the most of every opportunity - Soak up knowledge like a sponge - Don’t be afraid to ask for help
