I am a room lead where I open up the nursery build, lead a staff team of 6 and have key person responsibilities. I answer the phone and deal with customers and children are a day to day basis. I use email and a nursery app to keep in contact with families regarding any concerns.
I have learnt many new skills along my way. I know more on supervisions and leading a team better. I am more confident within my role and this has helped throughout doing my course. I have developed more with working with bigger teams and working with customers including finances and taking payments.
I thoroughly enjoyed the programme I did, I found at times it was difficult but with the support if my tutor i got by this article came to my end point at where i passed. I found doing hands on work very beneficial and doing the course whilst working developed my skills.
It was very structured. All tasks set had deadlines to where I needed to reach and exams dates to where I could work towards. The booklets were a fantastic help to what I needed and the organisation was brilliant. The BuD app was good to see what I needed to do and when I needed to complete this by.
I received a lot of support throughout. I changed jobs within my time and found both employers very helpful and wanted the best out of me to reach to the end. Asking for help from them was never a problem and they guided me through to get to where I am now. I have now passed my course and couldn't of done it with out the support.
The support I got from my assessor was brilliant. I couldn't of asked for anyone better to guide, encourage and support me. Any time I was unsure of anything my tutor was always at the end of the line to help and guide me through. Brilliant help and very supportive.
It helped me massively. Anything I needed help with my assessor guided and helped me. I put my knowledge into practice which help me develop my role in the setting. My confidence has grown huge amounts and again that is down to paragon skills where it had all the information what I needed to get to where I am
At the moment not what I am aware of. Due to the current situation no extra curricular activities are happening but lots or training on the the job and virtual meetings are the way forward within todays climate to gain and lead support from one another. Keeping in touch at the minute is the most important.
Yes
I found this course helped me massively in all aspects of my career. I found it challenging at times but that gave me the extra push I needed to get to pass. I think anyone who wants to develop in their career should use paragon skills as their patients and support is brill.
I would make sure they are open minded and get to know what they are doing. I had exams and course work and virtual meetings which I would of never imagined doing in an apprenticeship but it worked brilliantly. Having the contact of an assessor Is good as you know they are there to support you and not judge you
