In this role you do a variety of work for many different clients. It usually consists of completing tax returns for clients and managing your own client list by making regular contact and chasing for tax return information. You work within a team of people and often pass work around depending on your own and others workloads, but are responsible for ensuring our looking after your own clients.
You learn new skills every day, working with people 10-20 years in the industry and also those at the beginning of their career, everyday something new comes in and every piece of work is different. This means you pick up a huge amount of tax knowledge quickly as everyone's tax affairs are unique.
The programme is great, the work/life balance is great despite working full time and learning on the side for your ATT qualification, you get study days off work to help manage the workload meaning you aren't spending all your time studying after work , which makes it easier to manage.
There is a clear progression in the programme from a new starter to a Qualified tax Assistant, there is also an option to move further onto the CTA following the completion of your ATT which can often lead to a higher role the assistant. This is nice as you can fast track your way up the firm and onto the bigger roles with more responsibility.
As mentioned earlier, regular study days to help manage workload for your exams is great. Also, the benefits you receive as an employee at RSM are great with discounts for big brands. Also each office has their own HR team meaning you always have somewhere to go if you have any concerns
Yes
