Working interfaces. Checking invoices for prepayments and adding the date on the system. Review and process Journals every month end. Check fixed accounts balances and suspense accounts balances and add the new balance, invoice information i.e amount, location, period, description of the asset. Balance sheet reconciliation to add the amounts of this month so they can be reconciled.
yes, team work, time management, prioritize workload, the importance of confidentiality and integrity when dealing with personal information regarding colleagues or/and clients, working with different teams in different roles and responsibilities. Communication with my team and wider colleagues in the organisation. Problem solving as dealing with a broad range of tasks and people. This has helped to increase my perseverance and motivation. And of course, the ability to work under pressure.
I enjoy my program very much. It gave me the opportunity to rotate within different roles at Sage's Finance department. I was very lucky to be chosen to be in 4 different roles during the length of the apprenticeship, providing me with experience in 3 different areas within the Finance department such as P2P, O2C and R2R.
My program is very well organised in the sense that every 6 months I moved to a new role or area so I keep learning new skills, experience and knowledge. In my program, I had to rotate within different roles at Sage's Finance department. I have been in 4 different roles during the length of the apprenticeship within 3 different areas P2P, O2C and R2R.
When it comes to support for my daily tasks and work, I must say I feel hugely supported by my manager and colleagues alike and every time I need support I had it straightaway. So I feel very much supported. However, when it comes to support for my AAT Level 3 course, I would like to have more support when it comes to time given for my study as the rest of my apprentice colleagues in the Finance department have.
I have a lot of support from my training provider, especially from my tutor as she knows and understands my personal circumstances and job demands. She is very appreciative of my efforts to do any homework, revision etc... on time and the good marks I am obtaining in my exams. She is been very flexible and gave me the flexibility I needed according to my needs to achieve the goals for my AAT course.
I do not feel the qualification matches what I do at work, to be honest. I am studying to achieve AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting - Level 3 and what my roles have entitled mostly it has to do more with administration, procurement, contacting clients, spreadsheets, download and input of data etc... However, I have applied greatly to my roles the skills, behaviors and ethical principles learnt in my course.
yes, there are. There social activities such as lunches with colleagues and teams, Halloween parties, Christmas parties etc. Also Foundation days which is when we can volunteer in any activities to support charities and the company gives us free time to do so. They actually encourage all colleagues to do so regularly.
Yes
I truly believe it is a great place to work. Colleagues are very supportive and they actually see you as a valuable member of their team and treat you as one. The workload is important however, I just can describe my experience as very positive and the right thing to do for me. I believe Sage was the best choice.
My advice is very simple DO IT! you would not regret it. If you are hard worker and you are fine with the pressure of every day work, then, you will be fine. I think everyone considering applying for a job in Sage they should do it. Try for yourself and see if it is something that fulfills your career or the progression you want in your life.
