I am a manager of a day service. Managing three service and all the staff who work in the day service. I do supervisions, care plans risk assessments, working with parents carers and clients, annual leave, Disciplinary’s. Working with other Professionals . I also have to cover sickness. I also manage the pa hours clients who get a 1-1 service outside of the day service.
I has give me knowledge of how to run my team and the day service. Learning about policy’s and procedures. Dealing with parents and clients. Also got to support the staff with issues and conflict. It also gives me a chance to talk with my assessor with any issues and how to deal with them.
I have enjoyed all the qualifications I have done with paragon. It gives me knowledge and helps me be better manager. I found the nvq 5 hard but my assessor really helped me out through out the course. I recommend people enrolling to further there career. I have logged onto some of the talks they recommended.
Mine have been well structured and using the bud system has been really helpful to let me carry on. My assessor rings me regularly and we have face to face contact. He gives me plenty of notice when we are going to meet up and is always on hand to contact me if I need it.
My employer have been helpful but are not always able to help as I am doing a high level. We do our work in are own time not in the day service hours. We have all the information I need at day service for information and guidance.
My assessor is really helpful and helps me with any questions I have.
Yes the qualifications and learning about how to manage a staff team has helped me a lot in my job role
