Assisting male patients with mental health issues. I look after their physical, emotional and mental needs. I promote an holistic approach in my care. I make sure they have a proper food and fluid intake and that they are feeling safe and aided in their recovery throughout their stay at the hospital.
I have mostly been able to structure my way of working, give a meaning to any activity I do and understand how every part of my job fits in the bigger picture. I have been able to work on my existing skills and develop new ones to improve my overall performances.
The programme covered all aspects of health and social care and was really interesting. Most of all I enjoyed the support of the tutor who would assist me if I was experiencing any difficulties and praise me if I was exceding expectations in my work. It was very professionally run.
It was very well structured. There were 65 modules and it was easy to monitor my progress, see what was coming next in my learning. There were also many resources as a leaning journal, a final assessment of the knowledge gained through questions and answers and many more different tools.
I was supported and encouraged in starting the programme. I was also helped throughout facilitating work assignments that would help me with my study. I had my supervisor, manager and matron checking on my progress and offering help in case I needed. My colleagues also helped providing testimonies of my way of working.
The support I got from my tutor (the only contact point with the training provider) was outstanding, constant and personalized. I felt at all times that the tutor genuinely cared for my development and progress. I was directed, sustained and praised in a very professional way from day one until the end.
This was an indispensabile step towards further education. Without this course I would not have been able to apply for the Nursing Associate Training at the University of Brighton. It also helped me to better understand my role and consequently to be able to work in a more professional and aware way.
I am an active promoter of extra activities in my place of work. I have been able to implement pressure point massage, yoga, relaxation, brain gym, drawing mandalas as adjuvant in the recovery of my patients in the Department of Psychiatry in Eastbourne. I need to thank management to have promoted this as well.
Yes
My training provider is paragon skills. I do not understand why undefined is mentioned. Paragon skills has been very professional, well structured and provided me with an excellent tutor and consequently with an extraordinary learning support. I do not have any other provider to compare paragon skills with, but I cannot see how another company could do better.
Do your training, as I did, before or after the coronavirus. I cannot guarantee that the present standards can be maintained in a on line relationship with your tutor. The physical and personal interaction cannot be replaced by virtual meetings and "new normal" insanity. I would not do my training with the new rules.
