With the apprenticeship programme being on a rotational basis, my role changes. Giving me a broad oversight into the many facets that run the company as well as broadening my expertise.
I have developed many skills, from my interpersonal and communication and many other soft skills like leadership, and teamwork. I have also been able to enhance my skills in mathematics as well as many others.
The programme is thoroughly enjoyable. From meeting new apprentices to others already inside the organisation everybody is welcoming and facilitating. As well as this I have been able to learn many new skills through the breadth of experience everybody has at the organisation which I may not have been able to at university.
The programme is a four year apprenticeship coinciding with a full chartered business management degree. The six monthly rotations make sure that by the end of the four years many different environments can be experienced.
There are many forms of support at Visa. From the Next Gen team running the apprenticeship, the buddy you are given which are able to give support whether it is about work or degree work and on top of that support can always be found with your line manager during your rotation.
As the course has gone on the support has got better. There is always ways to get support regarding the university work.
There are many teachings from the Business Management degree that can brought into the workplace. As well as the professional practices that are taught on the university side.
There are many extra-curricular activities to get involved with at Visa. There is a football team as well as many social activities in the teams as well as with the apprentices making it a very welcoming atmosphere helping you to network across the company and meet new people.
