Just finished on a Technical Architecture team on HMRC project. Involves mostly programming, overseeing maintenance of the system and coding to add to it. For example one was a C++ program to pull text files and convert them into XML format.
During initial bootcamp, programming in C, Java and also training in SQL and Unix on an Ubuntu virtual machine. Also learnt some C++ during first project.
Very much, enjoyed working with my first team who were all lovely. Exceeded expectations as there is a lot of support for each individual apprentice and the people around you make sure you get what's best for career.
Still early days in my Accenture career so still areas for improvement, however I feel valued by the company when putting hard work in.
Very well structured, regular NVQ meetings to make sure I'm keeping on top of that, college day release with ability to do college work at work (depending on team) and lots of training provided should I need or want it. Clear path throughout the 3 years for qualifications as well.
A lot, regular NVQ meetings to check on progress, tutor is happy to offer support for either my work role or college work should I need it.
There is support whenever I need it and have any concerns. I can approach anyone of the Apprentice mentors, college tutor, manager, NVQ tutor etc. All these people understand there can be a lot of work and so are more than happy to help.
Pay is very high for an Apprenticeship, meeting my needs for travel, and there is a pay rise in second year as well.
Gym subsidy scheme, company pays for half the cost of membership. Lots of volunteer opportunities, for example I am shortly going to visit a school to talk about opportunities with Accenture.
Yes
Excellent Apprenticeship program that does an outstanding job of setting up my career
Do a lot preparation work; rehearse answers to possible questions (for phone interview as well). Make sure to ask a lot of questions about the course and the company itself. There is also a group task so it is important to impress in this (be confident and present your ideas well, but make sure to consider everyone elses ideas).
