My role is processing payments coming into the business, ensuring all cash allocation is correct. These tasks are carried out on different entities from the UK to France, Belgium etc.
I have learnt many new skills as well as developing existing skills both within the work place and the learning within my studies. The workplace allows me to practise the new skills and knowledge learnt whilst studying giving you real experience and helping to understand the theory in real life scenarios. I study accounting through AAT.
I really enjoy my programme as I have a real interest within finance and it is building my up to where I want to be and the position id like to be in. Furthermore, the team I work in is fantastic and the company has a great culture and huge support to not just you but the local community whilst having great company ethic supporting all colleagues.
The programme is well structured and you know exactly what you are getting out of it. You have support the whole way through from both the training provider and the workplace. You have meetings with work and college to ensure you have the right support and if you need any additional help with anything. There is never a point you feel like you cant speak to someone or feel uncomfortable.
You receive huge amounts of support from the employer whether this is additional time needed for studying or if an exam is coming up. If you ever have doubts in the workplace there are many approachable people to go too, from managers to colleagues. You have a mentor that links you between the college and the employer too and you have monthly meetings to ensure all is okay and you're coping okay.
You receive significant support from your tutor and your advisor and you have the relevant resources. It is very easy to contact if you have any issues or problems. I really enjoy the studying side of my apprenticeship.
What I learn in my qualification absolutely helps me perform better in my role as you make links between things and your understanding is much better as you cover the theory side of this and then get to put the theory into action with the support of your team. I definitely understand my role and the industry better from my qualification.
There are so many extra-curricular activities to get involved with, Sage actually pay you to take 5 days a year off work, fully paid to complete charity work or helping the local community this could be taking part in total warrior or knitting or going to a cat and dog shelter etc. We also have huge parties eg. booking St James park till 3am with free food and drink. There are many more activities too.

They offer a huge bonus too! As well as this Sage promote self growth to build skills to make you become a more valuable asset. There are huge perks for working for sage and Its a great company to work for.
By yourself and don't be afraid to ask questions because its a very supportive company who shows great interest in you. Make sure you do some research on the company and link what you say to the goals and visions of the company too. If you think you know nothing that's okay, just try and give a good representation of yourself and think of experiences where you have shown skills or good attitudes.
