My current role includes supporting the Financial Crime Compliance function within Barclays produce Conduct/Financial Crime Policies and Standards across the group.
Definitely, Barclays are keen for all apprentices to learn through an array of ways. Through constantly working and reporting to senior management, from the outset of the apprenticeship my communication and technical skills have thoroughly enhanced.
I fully enjoy the programme. The support which Barclays provides is incredible.
A very well structured programme. Each year you rotate to different areas across the compliance function with the ability to join an area you have an interest in. You have one day a week to study towards the relevant qualification which Barclays take seriously to best develop apprentices.
Barclays provides a vast amount of support to all employees across the bank. A huge focus is on well-being and good mental health. Barclays provides apprentices with mentors and all colleagues across the bank are accessible and happy to support your development.
Despite the current coronavirus pandemic, my training provider has been brilliant. Providing online interactive workshops to support our learning has been a pleasure to attend. Frequent calls with our tutor is also supports the apprentices thoroughly.
My qualification provides fundamental background knowledge into the financial services and regulatory framework. This supports my role through having an understanding of the relevant regulations and the process of these being implemented.
There are many extra-curricular activities including fundraising and sporting events.

Be yourself. Barclays is a company of positive culture, embracing the differences among individuals. Ensure you have a high level understanding of the compliance function and do your research on Barclays. It will provide you to learn the excellent history of the bank but demonstrate your interest in working for Barclays.
