Either studying in college or out on placement gaining experience across different parts of the company. College involves a lot of self studying and reading in order to understand the theoretical side of stuff such as Nuclear Science and Thermodynamics. Work placement is the best part as you are a part of a team working on stuff that matters and contributes to the project. This could be either working producing documents or inspecting a system thats been put into service.
Yes, I have developed several new skills and developed existing ones with the help of work colleagues and tutors.
I am enjoying my experience so far on the programme. Several challenges but also rewarding at the end when completing a job.
Good structure, can be some confusion with assignment managers when we go on our college block but overall good.
All the support I need is there form the employer. From work being carried out to mental health and regular health issues as well.
The support needed from them is also great. Can be a bit slow at times to respond but they do deal with 100's of students other than us so is understandable.
The qualification helps with the background information when discussing a topic in work. It may not be applied in the same way but the knoweldge gained from the qualification is useful.
Currently difficult to do due to Covid situation!
