I support clients with Autism, my role is to make sure they have a good satisfactifing day, and they are not put at risk in any way and kept safe.
I have learnt my job is very rewarding. How to communicate with clients in many different ways, according to their disabilities, I have learnt how to manage clients in different ways as each one is unique. By reading their care plans helps me identify what they can and cannot do and what they do and dont like.
I really enjoy what I do, I have never been in this line of work before, I have learnt the difference levels of disabilities, and how to manage them, the needs of the clients are so different and everyday I experience different challenges, which I enjoy. I find my job very rewarding.
My structure can be very organised but it can also change in a second depending on my clients, but I can easily adjust as long as they are safe and their day is fulfilled.
I recieve all the support I need and will often have conversations and ask lots of questions with my manager, I am updated with changes within my duty or any changes to do with my clients.
My trainer is always there to guide me and help when I need it. He is punctual with feed back when I have handed my work in and keeps in contact with me on a regular basis.
I find doing the qualification has given me so much information that I didn't know by researching and reading. I am surprised how much I have learnt. My trainer will always encourage me and guide me through.
Yes we have many activities that we are involved in...
Yes
I already have, she has starting working at Way Ahead. Because it is so rewarding and there are lots of challenges.
How rewarding and challenging the job is. Making your clients enjoy their day at the centre to make it easier for them to manage their days on a daily basis.. The clients are the most important part of my day and if I can share what I have with them, I know I have had a good day too.
