I work on the shop floor with fully trained fitters and inspectors and help them to assemble and inspect aircraft engines.
I have learnt many skills; reading engineering drawings and physical engineering skills but also social skills and skills to do with being a good employee.
I do enjoy it a great amount however there can always be improvements to the programme.
My programme is very organised apart from several aspects that cannot always be controlled e.g placements.
I receive a sufficient amount of support from my employer and support elsewhere with other managers.
I do receive support from my training provider, often helpful, but my main support for my qualifications come from college or assessors.
I learn a great amount of applied knowledge and skills for the workplace which allows me to understand my job better and be able to get more ‘hands on’.
I am part of the apprentice association however I do not attend any activity. I have participated in a couple of STEM events.
Yes
It had already given me great career and life skills and has been able to teach me a lot.
Keep on top of the work and involve yourself as much as you can.
