Apprentice machinist, full time college at first year, learn how to use all of the necessary machines which I will be using at rolls Royce in the factory. Second year we have one day a week in college and the rest of the week we spend in rolls Royce factory where we learn how to become a rolls Royce machinist and how to operate within the company as part of the rolls Royce work force
I have learnt how to operate cnc milking machines, cnc turning machines, lathes, milking machines, grinding machines, how to look at and draw engineering drawings.
I enjoy the programme a lot and am glad I got this apprenticeship as it feels great to be able to do something I enjoy everyday.
It is well organised and well structured, a shame that Covid 19 knocked some of the structure and organisation but everything is going as well as it can in the current circumstances.
I receive plenty of support.
Plenty of support is put in place for us from our training providers.
