As a fitter / inspector I work on either fitting or inspecting the aircraft engines. Through a normal day I would either be observing someone or carrying out practing assessments. Every Tuesday I attend college to carry out my BTEC.
Yes, I have learnt a number of new skills during my time as an apprenticeship. The main skill that I have learnt is my physical skills when working on the engines. I am now able to confidently carry out a number of tasks.
I do enjoy my apprenticeship very much as the work we are carrying out is very enjoyable. The work that we are carrying out is very enjoyable and interesting.
Throughout my apprenticeship their have been a number of different problems with the structure of the apprenticeship with managers leaving and getting new managers. However, the company have worked with us very well and we pulled through and it is not very well managed.
We receive lots of support from our managers and other people within our business. Whenever we require assistance there is always someone there who is able to help us out.
While working on my qualification the training providers will go to any extent to help us out with whatever we need. They provide lots of different resources.
Our qualification that we are recieving through our apprenticeship helps us out massively during our work that we carry out during our day to day roles and you can physically see aspects that have helped us through our training.
In our business we have an apprentice association which carry out a number of different activities either weekly or monthly where they meet up outside of work times.
