I am a Recovery Engineer in IBM Resiliency Services and work at a disaster recovery site in London. As part of my role I support the Work Area and Voice teams in supporting clients during testing. This involves testing client images to make sure they are up to standards in the event of an emergency. Also during testing providing hands on support for their hardware and voice systems.
Very much so. I came into IBM with very little technical knowledge or experience. Through hands on training I have learned so much about supporting different types of hardware and operating systems. IBM offer their apprentices the opportunity to gain a vast amount of industry recognized qualifications which will look amazing on your CV and help develop your skills.
I have enjoyed the programme so far as there is so much variety and endless amounts of opportunities you can get involved in outside your role so you will never be bored.
Very well, the salary is very competitive for an apprenticeship and there are regular increases each year.
IBM is a very social company, there are always great events happening across the country. Also there are a number of sports teams within IBM where you can compete against other companies in the corporate games.
