Electrical maintenance engineer, carrying out planned/preventative/reactive maintenance on all assets in the assembly shop. Carrying out fault diagnosis/repairs/installation of new and current assets and machines on site. Involved in new tests and upcoming projects for upcoming rework for test beds.
Learnt new skills during my apprenticeship and also furthered my electrical knowledge when it comes to engineering.
Qualification, people and the place makes the apprenticeship worth the wait, the overall apprenticeship could do with more organisation.
Not very, from the start the college was not prepared with the units, classes, lectures etc as time went on things started to progress but then the issue when limited amount of electrical assessors on site to mark my work.
Support is very positive especially from our apprentice managers they help in every way possible. Also business management is really helpful on site helping as much as they can.
Training providers helps as much as they can when support is needed.
Most things learned at college was used in my role.
