Purchase ledger clerk, mainly inputting invoices onto the kerridge system and reconciling supplier statements. I dealt with supplier queries over email and telephone to ensure invoices were paid on time. I would completely fortnightly payment runs as well as manual payments on a daily basis.
I have developed existing skills such as creating excel spreadsheets. Previous to this course, I had achieved an A in Business at A Levels, so was pretty clued up on most aspects of business.
I thought the programme was good, I had an excellent relationship with my tutors. It was just unfortunate for me that I had already completed business at A levels to a high standard so found a lot of the knowledge a little easy.
Can’t fault the structure of my programme provided by LSP. My experience with JCT600 and the apprenticeship wasn’t as great, they don’t seem interested in your apprenticeship at all or even know that you’re still doing it.
As previously answered, there was little to no support from my employer. Luckily I have a supportive supervisor (who is also completing an apprenticeship with LSP). Apart from this, I have had no support from the company.
LSP have been great with support, sending learning materials when needed and provided lots of useful feedback to help me achieve the best out of my apprenticeship.
I have learnt some new things that are beneficial for my role, however being a purchase ledger, I felt an accounting programme would have been more suited rather than business administration.

Work atmosphere is terrible, no support when you need it. They aren’t interested in your apprenticeship, only interested if you’re completing AAT.
Use them for everything you can get, you can get some good experience from JCT600, and then find an accounting centre that appreciates you and your efforts.
