I am a Category Assistant for Men's and Boot's own Brand and Exclusive toiletries. As an assistant I work on Sales Plan (offers that you see in store), maintain product information and meet with suppliers. As my job role covers a wide variety of products I get to work with the Brand team as well as the trading teams. On top of my day to day job role I get involved in exciting projects - for example new launches.
There are deadlines you need to meet within Trading and therefore, you need to be organised. There are plenty of internal courses I am booked on which really help with the systems. On top of the training everyone is more than happy to help. I am currently doing a Customer Service qualification with College (which is on the Boot's site).
I am really loving my job. There is a great structure in place from which I can get stuck in to my work load as well as interesting meetings scattered throughout the week. I feel like I am supported by my team and I can see a clear structure of where my career could go.
My Manager is really helpful in giving me an insight of what is expected of me and what I can expect in return. I have weekly meetings which helps to keep a check on my development. I feel more than comfortable to ask questions as and when they arise, from which I am given time and help with.
I attend college once a month which is great as I am busy within my job role so it allows a good balance. From the offset I understand my role and how over time I can be given more responsibilty. Having this clear structure is really important.
My training Provider always responds to any questions I have and they set out very clearly what is needed from me.
I receive a lot of support. From setting out my role, my progression, helping with with systems to any questions I have.
The salary is great for an Apprenticeship programme.
There are many social events organised.
