I work in IT Consultancy, which involves providing technological innovation to transform our client's businesses. This type of work could involve back-end development or business analysis, depending on my role in each project.
I have learnt new programming languages at university such as Java, Java Script, HTML and CSS. At work I have learnt about Splunk and Shell Scripts.
I enjoy my program because it directly aligns with my academic skills, which are mathematical and computational thinking.
The university / educational side of the program is very well structured. The corporate side is also well structured, however project demand decreased due to COVID-19, which made it harder to get enrolled onto a project.
At Accenture, you receive a Career Councilor, who is responsible for guiding you through your corporate journey and supporting you throughout your projects.
UEL provides lots of educational support, ranging from emails to tutorial sessions to recap lectures.
The content I learn and the knowledge I gain during my university lectures is very much transferable to my client-facing work at Accenture. My technical ability definitely improves at university, which helps me provide more value on projects.
There are lots of extra-curriculum activities to get involved in at Accenture, ranging from different sport societies to join to societies that focus on improving your public speaking.
Yes
I would recommend Accenture to a friend because you have the opportunity to achieve a degree and corporate client-facing experience simultaneously.
Prepare for each stage of the application process and relax - it is never as bad as you think it will be.
