1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work in a nursery, providing education and fun activities for children. I also ensure they are safe and well looked after whilst in my care and at home.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have definitely learnt a lot aswell as refreshing on things I already knew.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoyed doing the tasks given, I found some easier than others, but it was definitely rewarding working toward somthing.

4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

It was very well organised, my tutor was fantastic and gave me a lot of support.

5. How much support do you receive from your employer?

I received the support I needed from my employer, regarding questions about safeguarding and data protection.

6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I received an enormous amount of support which I’m very great full for.

7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Due to learning new things, I can put that into my work and give advise where needed and comfortably talk about what I’ve learnt.

8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

we have a yearly conference where the whole YMCA organisation joins together for team building activities.

9a. Would you recommend Paragon Skills to a friend?

Yes

9b. Why?

I received so much support and when I needed to ask any questions, they where answered so quickly meaning I could complete the work given to me. My assessor was fantastic and I am really thankful to her. I completed my NVQ in just over a year and that was thanks to [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] signing off and giving me work quickly.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Paragon Skills?

Definitely apply! I thought the year would go really slowly doing the work, but it went so quickly and once you start doing the work, it’s actually interesting with the things that you learn and things that are just a refresher.
