  • To provide a variety of activities suitable for our senior members to participate in whilst promoting social interactions, physical fitness and creativity, to enhance their overall well being. To provide support to my manager in all areas of her work on a daily basis, and to take full responsibility for her duties in her absence.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt all about the legislation side of the ‘health and social care’ environment which I have applied to my day to day activities. I have learnt the importance of working well with other partnerships and building up relationships with family members

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I felt extremely supported by my tutor and if there was ever a problem, theoretically or in practice, she made herself available to me to help me work out a solution to the issues.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It very very well structured but it also gave me the opportunity to work at my own pace and to choose which order I wanted to complete the modules in.

  • I knew that my manager was there if I required advice, but I felt I was more reliant on my tutor to advise and get me through the course.

  • As much as I needed.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It helps me to understand the ‘bigger picture’ and gain a greater understanding of broader subjects which I am not exposed to within the workplace

  • Not really.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Cholsey Day Centre to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The support from my tutor was excellent. The course was well structured and easy to follow, but gave me the flexibility to work at my own pace.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Cholsey Day Centre?
  • Build up a good relationship with your tutor as she/he will guide you through the initial complexities of the course, but will also provide consistent on-going guidance and support along the way.
